Tidbit Tuesday #3: Your Detail Shots
When we create your customized Wedding Day Timeline, you will notice the first thing I do when I arrive to a wedding is grab all of the meaningful details to take photos of. I love detail photos because you spend so much time planning and picking out all of these little things that make up your big day, and I want to make sure I document it all!
A week before your wedding date, start gathering all of the important details together in a bag or box. If you don't have time, this would be a good task to assign to your Maid of Honor! If all of your details are together in a bag or box when I arrive to your bridal suite, and I quickly grab them and start on the detail photos! This way I can make the most of the designated time!
Here are a few things that will help take your detail photos to the next level!
DRESS HANGER:
One things that a lot of brides don't think about is the hanger that their dress is on! I always make sure to get a couple shots of the dress all by itself, and instead of taking those photos of the dress hanging on the plastic hanger it comes with, I love to have a beautiful hanger to help enhance the photo! Check out this Etsy shop for some beautiful customized hangers for your wedding dress!
RING BOX:
Another thing that will help enhance your photos is a beautiful ring box! This helps to bring more attention to your ring and really make it stand out.
I love The Mrs. Box for your ring shots! It adds a little extra something special and you are able to customize them!
JEWELRY:
And speaking of ring boxes... of course you will need the rings! You should include your engagement ring and both wedding bands, as well as any other jewelry - necklace, earrings, bracelet, etc.
LOOSE FLORALS:
Ask your florist for some loose florals for detail shots!
Check out my All About Florals blog post for additional things to ask your florist for!
INVITATION SUITE:
Your invitation suite consists of your invitation with outer envelope and reply card with matching envelope. Also included can be a details card, map, menu, wax seals and inner envelope (this fits inside of the outer envelope and adds an extra layer of interest and formality - the names of the people invited would be calligraphed on this inner envelope).
Tip: send me the copies of your wedding invitation before the wedding! This way I can bring it with me to your wedding just in case it is forgotten!
SHOES:
The photos of your wedding shoes will look the best with clean, unworn shoes. Of course I know this isn't alway practical (or comfy!), so if you want to bring a pair of shoes to change into later, that is always okay too!
I love Badgley Mischka shoes - and Nordstrom always has great sales!
PERFUME:
Are you wearing a special perfume on your big day? Make sure to include it in your details bag or box so I can get a couple shots of it!
BRIDAL BOUQUET:
I love to get a couple shots of your bridal bouquet early in the day while it is fresh and before it has been out of the water for several hours!
VEIL:
Your veil adds an additional texture to your detail shots and makes for some really cool layering!
And of course we can't forget the groom's details!:
Bow tie or tie Boutonniere
Cufflinks
Shoes
Socks
